How should I get my hair colored? Picture included!?

Want some help deciding what to do to my hair. I have my hair appointment set for this Thursday so I need to come up with something before then. I have had my hair practically every color in the book. I have medium long, naturally wavy hair, but I straighten it most days. Ideas? I'm pretty open...

First If You Have Dark Hair You Need To Bleach It And Pull The Darker Color Off Your Hair. The Color Dye You Will Need Is Violet Red Plus A Red Kicker. When Its Finished Your Hair Will Be Red. And Eventually Your Hair Color Will Fade Into The Brassy Orange.

Just remember that any brand of dye is not going to last long. Red dye is the only one that doesn't penetrate the hair shaft so therefore it fades quickly. This is why I quit dying my hair red. I would suggest that whichever brand you do go with, use shampoos and conditioners for color treated hair. Regular shampoos will cause it to fade out quicker too.
Use Manic Panic with the bleach stuff they make. I would almost bet money that it's what she uses.

Hmm... well I think you would look super cute with an auburn hair color, like a reddish-brown, but I think your idea would look really cute!

You can also go on google and look up changing hair and there are some websites where you can upload a picture of yourself and put all types of hairstyles on your picture.

Pictures are not enough to tell. Your hair color can change depending on the type of light and how much light there is.

People have hair that looks different in different light. Maybe inside your hair looks brown, but outside it looks blonde. Cameras only capture so much, this is why lighting is so important in photography, modeling, movies, etc.Hair color? [pictures]?

I think your a very attractive young lady.Maybe that was'nt your natural haircolor.But if I were you I'd stick to the haircolor you now have.It brings out you eyes and shows how cute you are.Maybe you could ask your hairdresser to help you pick out a hairstyle for you.I would'nt attempt the look that's on the picture if I were you.Well good luck in your descision.
Dont do it like the first person that answered red is beautiful. I really want red hair. You are lucky! Dont change it because that hairstyle looks cheap. If you straten your hair and get some lighter red highlights your hair will look fabulous! Hope i helped!

Don't bleach your hair, it ruins it and it looks tacky.

It looks as if you have an oval shaped face. So any style will do. If you don't want it short maybe you can get a trim add some long layers. Color wise maybe you could do like a shadow box. That would look really cute.. :) good luck hope you find a good cut and color.
Get highlights and low lights. Have the stylist trim and shape your hair. You don't want to dye it dark brown, it won't be even. Been there done that. I hated it, it was to big of a change! Good luck.
Can't really help you since half of your face is covered up.

But I'd say, maybe go a shade darker, make is a sultry brown.

I do agree with everyone else, I would dye it a brown. maybe a medium brown. nothing too dark, but nothing too light.
The hair cut you gets depends partly on the shape of your body/face etc. and you cant tell from the picture.

It does not look bad from what I can see.
go dark brown with layers so that you wont have as many split ends .. plus it helps your hair grow.

Yeah, you would look REALLY pretty with bangs and as for going brunette I would say no because the lighting in your pics makes your skin tone seem perfect for light colored hair, but maybe if your skin looks different in better lighting brunette hair would be good for you. :)

Dang, you're a hottie. why change? but it's understandable. You could definitely do brunette, and i don't see why you couldn't redirect some hair to cut as bangs. nows the time to do it. then if it sucks you have all summer to fix it, right. Your eyebrows look fine. Does your mom have eyebrows? that's probably the criteria for where you're going on that one, eh. You could even cut it about to your chin or jaw and get a loose perm. that seems pretty cute to me, where it comes down and then shoots out like a ski jump (bad description for a cute thing)...but probably scary drastic. let us know what you do.
i suggest cutting it chin lengh, shorter from behind but longer around the face with full bangs . your hair is very straight, so it would be easier for you to maintain this look. try cutting it short first, the lengh is wearing it down and make it look droppy and heavy, like its pulling it down rather than giving it volume and movement which is very seductive and flirty.

then, consider going chocolate brown, the one that has golden tones in it rather than bluish tones.

maybe it doesnt make sense to u 'cause brown is brown and not blue, but they really have undertones.

u must consider whether or not u'll have time and money and touch up the roots.. dark hair with blonde or red routes look so old and ugly. i think you'd pull off the brunette chick look, but i strongly recommend doing it in a good salon as hair doesnt always respond to the colour you're dying it with especially if its a dramatic colour change, which what would be happening if u decide to dye it.

well I would say u should not wear that crown and just do what u said - the pink streaks because I know sombody who did that and it looks weird in my onpion. I can't tell her that though cuz she moved.

Depends on how long you leave it in for.

I don't think you would look good blonde.

Are you talking about the extensions?.....if they're synthetic they won't change color no matter what you use.....But if you're talking about your hair.....Since you aren't familiar with hair coloring and you want to go drastic, I would suggest having a professional do it.

Bleaching it will of course lighten it, but you may not be happy with the results if you don't know what you're doing. Then it will most likely need a toner to get a good color, (raw bleach doesn't always look good). ....then you'll get a regrowth and have to do it all over again, but of course only on the roots, as bleaching all over again and again will overprocess it and break off. Not really a task for an amateur.

Have you considered having some highlights done, you can go thin to chunky depending on the look you want....it doesn't show a regrowth so quicklyl therefore not as much upkeep.

Either way go to a professional and let them use the knowledge they have, that you don't....You'll get the best result and be happier in the long run. Not to mention you could end up with a mess that may need correction, and that always cost more and never gets the best result.

I'm a big believer in test strands, but there's no need to cut the strand off, just do it underneathl, but I'm really happy to see people saying to go pro, as they have had good pro experience or bad do it yourself experiences.
ive bleached my hair sevral times. its a pain in the but to maintain bleached hair. takes forever to dry,tons of breakage,feels gross in the shower,when dryed normaly gest extremly frizzy,blow dryers dry the hair too much causing it to break.when your hair is damp you cant run a brush through it. seirsouoly dont bleach your hair. and if you just want to,you'll have to bleach it twice. if you bleach it once it will be orange. do it again .you will be bleach blonde.
It will dry it out alot,possibly turn it orange.

Take it from my past experience, if your going to try and do it yourself to save the money, you will spend more money going to a professional to fix it when your in tears rather than if you just went there in the first place

It really depends on what volume of bleach they use.

Take a swig of your hair like maybe 20 strands and put a rubber band around it ,, then cut it...make sure its in a hidden place, so you wont have a bald spot

then bleach it, to test the color.

i like the blond....if you were to add some contrast with the brown hilites however, i wouldn't go too dark and drastic with it, you are right, it is different but the change itself is already a big one. at first, id do the blond but just with some suttle, carmel hilites. go for it thought, it will look cute!

well if your hair is naturally red...you probobly have very fair skin,....keep that in mind bc the in the pic that girls skin is not fair. there are websites where you can upload a pic and ';try on '; different hairstyles...you may want to try that to see what you would look like with light hair

That may be a little dark. The rule goes that you shouldn't dye your hair more than 3 shades lighter or darker than your present hair colour.If you do you may end up with results you weren't expecting. I think that colour will look good on you but you might want to dye it a lighter brown, wait a bit and then go for the dark brown. Ease into it! Would i look good with this hair color? [picture.]?

definitely the auburn one. but try the low poroxide colors where you get your hair cut...it wont damage your hair as much and it fades without showing roots which is good for people with dark hair like yoursHair Color?? (pictures)?
the auburn looks really cute. My friend has auburn died hair its pretty cute, but it doesnt look natural on most people, so if you have dark brown hair then you should go for the natural and cute look with light brown. But hey its your choice but still. People look best in naturaller tones,

same length, don't go shorter. i think darker could look nice, but not like a chocolate brown, more like a caramel.
Keep it that length, maybe a bit shorter...I think try going 2 or 3 shades darker and get foils of a lighter colour through your hair!

I think you don't need to change your hair color. You look good with that color. And the length of your hair is just right. It compliments the shape of your face.
love the curls..keep the length and color.. but maybe just some body to it- and if you want- you can go ahead and try a darker hair color- i don't think that would look too bad..but blonde is pretty on you too.

Are you kidding?? Don't think so low of yourself. you're beautiful. I think you should go with a light brown because your eyebrows look really light. You can always go back to darker if you don't like it.

I've pretty much gone through every hairstyle. Right now I'm pretty sure I just want my hair to be long. My hair has always been black.. recently red. But I haven't had it brown since the 7th grade, and I was thinking for a change to go brown. Have any suggestions as to what color brown would look good? i promise you you'll regret it if you dye it brown, because even if you use permanent hair colour, brown fades really quick on blonde, unless its really really dark brown - practically black.

When you first do it it will look lovely and glossy, but after a few washes it will go a kind of ugly grey minky brown, like this:

I think the light brown would look really good with your features. Miley's make up looks like she used a black liquid eye liner with the outer corners extending to a point. Then a brown shadow over the top lid, and some black mascara. Then a neutral (nude to light pink) lip color and gloss with some coral blush just on the apples of her cheeks.
If your hair is getting darker anyway, I think you should go ahead and dye it brown. I'm pretty sure it will look good. Try this website for tips on how to do your makeup like Miley...

im a hair stylist and i no that colour wud suit u i av natrully blonde hair i av light browns dark browns and black slices thru my hair so it dunt look as borin if u are nervous try doin that first i also av a side fringe and avin sum colour under it really changes ya whole face, n it looks great if u bump ya fringe up wiv a grip

as 4 the makup shes kept it quite simple which always looks better if u av dark hair a nice foundation with sum face pearls[blusher] will look great for the eyes a decent mascara and maybe sum shaded in black eye shawow but jus on the lid above sum liguid eye liner n no lip stick a bit of vasaline will do ya fine

I'm overdue to dye my hair.

My natural hair color is white blond and I started dying my hair about a year ago. I've experimented with almost every natural color imaginable.Right now it's dark brown.

So basically, I find myself asking, ';What color this time?';

The choices are light golden brown,dark brown,reddish blond,and a mahogany red brown. I'm leaning towards the last one. What do you think?

I agree with Celosa. A ';dark chesnut brown'; would look nice on you. It'd go well with your eyes and skintone. Maybe even a reddish-brown would look nice. The first picture was the best, just maybe make any highlights or streaks you'd get more subtle. And I would suggest getting some type of deep-conditioning product because, like Celosa said, your hair is starting to show to results of being dyed so much. Good call on your part, and good luck. =)

Advice on hair color! Picture included.?

Well my hair is shown in the picture below, that is my natural hair color for the most part (I had some red highlights put in a while back, and when they faded my hair shade lightened slightly). I'm kinda in the mood to color my hair/highlight it again, and any suggestions are welcome :)

I think your hair would look great if you got a perm to straighten it, then maybe add some caramel highlights. I really think straight hair would look great on you though. But that is just MY opinion. And if you are worried about damageing your hair, use the APHOGEE 3-step hair treatment from the beauty supply store. It does wonders.

I don't know. The blonde seems to bright for your skin. and the brown underneath is kind of distracting form your face.

I would also have to agree with another answerer and say ease up on the mascara. I challenge you to walk to of the house barefaced. Send me a pic. I bet you would look just as if not more beautiful.

Also try using one stoke of mascara, one line of liner on the inner corners of your eyelids and a nude gloss.

well i think you would look really nice if you get it dyed like super black, cut it in layers and then get brown shoulder length or long extensions. it would look nice if you straighten it or curl it. you'd look really pretty llike that. if you don't like that idea then go with dark warm brown. %26lt;33333
its kinda hard to tell on that pictures, but i would deffinatly go with a Dark Warm Brown, because getting black, especially jet black can be a little much, and can look fake.
Since your skin has lots of brown undertones u really can get away with any colors if u blend them.

If its a diy job i'd go with the brown for sure but black always looks good.
A nice warm brown, black is far too over done and tacky.
highlights are always fun with a dark warm brown but its more expensive!

you would even be safe going a bit darker than your eyebrows, i think you should stay aways from red tones, one thing you can do is go to a beauty supply store, they should have these little dye supplements, a few different ones, some to condition hair, some to keep it from going yellow when you lighten it and one for when using brown dyes to keep the red out. if you ask the clerk they should know what your talking about, you could also use a dye like Natural Match, they have varieties that counteract the red. :)

dark reddish brwn as in auburn? i think auburn would look kinda odd, but if yuo want, TRY IT. you never know it could ook extremely nice! i was really hesitant to dye my hair black, and everyone thought it wold look like crap, but ti looks AMAZING! so, try the auburn and if you dont like it just wait a few weeks and dye it over with chocolate brown=] besides, i dont know about you, but my hair doesnt hold red pigment well so when i died my hair auburn before and the red pigment washed out in like 2 weeks (i also wash my hair daily so that may have done it lol) and i was left with darker brown hair anyways lol. also, remember, dandruff shampoo WILL fade your color, as well as salt , excessive chlorine like in pools, and sun. good luck!! =]
because you have light colored hair, it will be very hard to get it back to the way it was if you die it. you prob will have to get it professionally done or wait till it grows out if you decide to go back to your current color. just be careful. my hair is so messed up cuz of all the times i have colored it. it looks like a haystack right now. i strongly recommend having someone do it versus doing it yourself.

You'd look good with either but I think you should go with a dark brown. Dark reddish brown is kind of common, well in my town. And a lot of people don't look good in it, so i'd play it safe with dark brown besides it seems like it would look good with your brows.

SEMi-PERMANENT HAiR COLOR (PiCTURE iNCLUDED)?

i put a darkbrown semi-permanent hair color over my blonde highlights and i was wondering how long it will take to get my blonde back

i really want it back

My hair dye is semi-permanet aswell, and goes after a few months. I sudjest that you soak in the bath for ages with your hair under water and massage it. This makes it go quicker.

I think you should dye it a simalar colour to your old one so when you get your roots it wont be noticable.

Semi permanent color on pre-lightened hair is permanent. Sorry.

It will fade some. but never back to the original color.

It looks good with the color you chose though.
the blonde will never come back because you have died it, the darker color may fade but it will never be blonde again

you will have to go and get highlights done again

If you're going to have an unnatural color is your hair, you have to keep it extremely neat, clean, and cared for. It's kind of a trade off- if your blue/green hair was smooth, brushed, and not oily or stringy, the it would be pretty.

The color itself is nice, though I would steer away from adding green, due to your skin color. Focus on keeping it up for awhile, not going extreme with the color.
its a pretty hair color but i think u needa dy the roots up a bit more...they are slightly faded looking compared to the tips...and i think when u have a n extreme color like that u should always have a defined flattering hairstyle everyday or sleek style to make it work for u, ur style doesnt match u or ur hair...try straightening it or getting really shapely defined curls or perhaps getting different shades of blue to create a really neat style that look intentional...green hair wont look too hot on u lol sorry to say...the blue works better...or maybe u can strip the color and bleach it...and then dye it dark purple...green would make ur skin look mucky because ur are fair skinned... this is what i mean by a specific sleek and or flattering style...

don't green it up. i don't think it's pretty because it does not compliment you at all. your hair looks very damaged. i suggest coloring it to a dark chocolate color. it'll help your hair look richer, healthier and fuller.
I don't know if you're being serious or not but to put it nicely, that is definitely not a nice color. Don't make it worse by adding green. Perhaps try a more natural color? Chocolate brown would be gorgeous!

So, I'm going to the salon Friday, and I can't decide on a hair color. If you can't tell from the pic, my hair is medium brown, with thin blonde highlights and thin auburn lowlights. I want something different, but not black. I've tried black, and I hate it.

Why don't you try a lighter brown, with more blonde highlights? Don't do chunks, though. Keep it subtle. Always go lighter for the summer, and remember, it will get lighter with sun, chlorine from pools and ocean water if you hit the beaches. Good luck!

A good haircolor doesn't just depend on your skin tone. Your natural haircolor and eyecolor also play a big role. If you could include these two things then that would be great.

To me I seen some hint of gold in the shine... so it's a dark golden brown... coal black hair has a blue cast and you don't want BLACK HAIR... and I think your asking ';is it hard to go back to a lighter color from black?'; and yes it can be... when people want to go dark as in black I always tell that dark brown will look almost black and I think dark hair needs warm and that can be with golden or red tone to it...

I don't think that that's white...I think it's purple with the light hitting a certain way making it look white. It looks like a really pale lavender to me...

But if you're looking to dye your hair white, go to SALLY'S and I'm sure they'll have the color that you're looking for. They have EVERYTHING there.

Bleached blonde. You'd have to use a strong peroxide to get that on dark hair so your best getting it done by a professional or get coloured extensions.

I think her hair is a dark brown. She's not in the sun so it could just appear darker in the picture than it is.

Personally, I would show this to a hair stylist and say that you want this color. I don't know what your price range is or what brands you like, but if I was doing this myself, I would probably use anything that was ';True Red'; or something with ';Auburn'; in the name.

You'll also need to layer your hair %26amp; make it edgy-ish ;)

Sure..If you want pumpkin orange hair. Sun-in is only used on Blond hair..That's it. Any darker, and it will go Orange.

My least favorite haircolor is the ';skunk hair'; combination of black and platinum blonde...it's just tacky and outdated.
unnatural: most of them. especially pink and red.

natural: depends on if it goes with your skin
light brown(my color) is boring, not close to black, or blonde, i want either one of those but im pale kinda lol
pitch black hair with platinum blond tips and blood red streaks
